Norwegian Augustana Synod, 1870-1890

The Norwegian Augustana Synod was formed out of the Scandinavian Augustana Synod in 1870. At the same time, another group called the Conference of the Norwegian-Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church was formed from the Scandinavian Augustana Synod. The major difference between the two was the inclusion of the Book of Concord. The Norwegian Augustana Synod wanted to include the whole book.

The Norwegian American Synod, the Conference of the Norwegian-Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and the Anti-Missourian Brotherhood united in 1890 to form the United Norwegian Lutheran Church in America.
