German officers surrendering Akershus Fortress to Terje Rollem, Norwegian Resistance officer, on May 11, 1945. Front caption reads: "Hjemmestyrkene overtar Akershus festning 11. mai 1945." Handwritten notes on back: "Ragna Kjekstad" and "Tyskernes overgivelse av Akershus lil de norske hjemmestyrker den 11th mai 1945. Den norske hjemmestyrkemannen er Rolem fra Blommenholm (naer Oslo)." (The Germans surrender Akershus to the Norwegian Resistance on May 11th, 1945. The Norwegian Resistance man is Rolem from Blommenholm (near Oslo).)

Funding to digitize a portion of the Jacob Stefferud papers provided to the Norwegian American Historical Association through the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, a component of the Minnesota Clean Water, Land and Legacy constitutional amendment, ratified by Minnesota voters in 2008.
