The materials in this collection trace connections across Norway, with a remarkable concentration from Oslo, the nation’s capital. Nearly half of all items originate there, reflecting the city’s role as a cultural and political hub during the period these materials document.

Significant contributions also come from Oppland and Hordaland, regions known for their strong emigration ties and vibrant local press traditions. Smaller numbers of items represent nearly every other county in Norway, from Finnmark in the far north to Vest-Agder in the south, offering a broad view of Norwegian life and heritage.

Together, these materials illustrate the diverse regional voices that shaped Norwegian and Norwegian-American history.
